Rocks have many uses. Their strength lies in their durability. The Bible calls Jesus our Rock. He is the Rock of our salvation. He holds and sustains us when we are tempted to sin. He shields us from the shifting sands of life. He is the foundation stone of our faith and the Rock on whom we build our Christian life.

Some build their house of life on the sand. This is dangerous. When troubles come, the sand will fail to hold them. It shifts and moves in the buffeting winds. We must build our house, faith, and life on Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ is the Rock who never fails us. He is strong, mighty, powerful and immovable. We can count on Him to be there for us, to support us and uplift us. We can depend on His strength to sustain us through the difficult times of our lives. When we build our lives on Him, we have a sure foundation.

Lord, we praise You and bless Your name. You are the Rock on whom we build our lives on earth and in eternity. Accept our prayers and praise for Your own sake. Amen.
