Greetings from Family Shield Ministries

Hope all is going well with you and that you are having a great start to the summer!

I wanted to reach out to you to let you know of a recent development with Faith Family Reunion.  As you may recall, I had concluded the ministry outreach in November of 2021 due to some family health issues.

Since we brought Faith Family Reunion to a close I continued to receive emails and inquiries with questions and requests. I was not sure how people were finding FFR since I had turned off the website and all social media channels. Apparently, the information was still out there.

Because I did not want to leave these individuals without any support, I decided to reach out to an LCMS organization and see if they might be willing to take the calls and emails.  I ended up contacting Reverend Dr. Mark Wood with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, (www.everyonehiswitness.org/course/witnessing-to-dechurched-adult-children) who I had worked with before on some projects with Faith Family Reunion.  When we spoke, he suggested that I reach out to Kay Meyer with Family Shield Ministries. 

Kay Meyer and I spoke several days later and we both realized that Faith Family Reunion was a great fit with Family Shield Ministries.  She met with her board and they unanimously approved taking over the ministry that was previously accomplished through Faith Family Reunion (FFR) at its March 2023 FSM Board meeting.

Over the next several weeks as Kay and I continued to meet, I felt a prompting by the Holy Spirit to share all of the resources and information my father and I had developed over the years.  After all, why should they have to start from scratch when I had so much to give.  I then felt another prompting from the Holy Spirit that I too needed to help out.

I spoke with my husband about the idea of working with Family Shield Ministries and he said, why not?  I spoke with Kay and she, plus her board were delighted.  I had the honor of meeting the Family Shield Ministry board at their meeting in May!

We, together as Family Shield Ministries, desire to create more resources for families through our radio programs, podcasts, videos, books, articles, devotionals, email newsletters, and social media messages and to integrate the resources from Faith Family Reunion.
